To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Senior Real Estate Processor opportunity, you will have:
  • 5-7 years of loan processing and/or underwriting experience required, preferably in a financial institution  
  • Experience processing real estate loans; residential loan experience highly preferred  
  • Broad knowledge of credit fundamentals and lending regulations
  • Knowledge of secondary market underwriting requirements
  • Strong analytical reasoning skills; ability to conduct analyses of applicants’ credit status and recommend alternatives where the analyses reveal an insufficient financial position
  • Working knowledge of all major investors and their guidelines. 
  • Solid computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel) or other spreadsheet and word processing applications; experience with loan origination software, Mortage Candence preferred
  • Thorough and well-organized approach; exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills with a strong eye for detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to mentor and train new processors as needed
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; college coursework or a degree is a plus
  • Understanding of credit union culture and member-centric approach is an advantage
You will work remotely from your home office within commuting distance of either our Las Vegas, NV, Allen, TX, or Mesa, AZ locations. You will go into the office as required for meetings or training, though office work is currently suspended. When it's safe to do so, we anticipate you'll go into the office several times each month.

Reporting to the Real Estate Process Supervisor, as Senior Real Estate Processor, you will be responsible for effectively and efficiently promoting and processing Unify Financial Credit Union's real estate loan products, services and programs. You will process residential real estate loans of varying complexity up to $2.5 million, primarily handling purchases, but also processing refinance and home equity transactions when there is overflow from Real Estate Processor I and IIs. 

Working to meet established KPIs, including a monthly quota, you will take real estate loan applications from submission through closing, including analyzing and verifying credit, income, asset, appraisal, escrow and title documentation to confirm that the loan meets investor guidelines, the Credit Union’s overlays, and is in compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements. Specifically, you will:
  • Gain a full and complete working knowledge of all Credit Union Real Estate loan products, programs, policies, procedures, and all governing regulatory laws and guidelines.
  • Prioritize and monitor daily workflow in order to ensure all loans meet contractual contingency and closing deadlines.
  • Assume responsibility and ownership of the loans in your personal pipeline.
  • Review income, credit, assets, and property information against investor guidelines to ensure eligibility for the desired loan program.
  • Analyze employment profile, credit strength, property characteristics, and all other information pertinent to the credit decision process.
  • Support the Processing team on thorough second-level analyses of Members’ income and expense data, self-employment documentation, credit reports, and property valuations in order to affirm loan approval criteria.
  • Verify and analyze all necessary financial information and documentation; ensures that loan files contain all required credit and legal documents to satisfy underwriting conditions.
  • Respond to member and staff inquiries in a timely manner and within established SSLA’s (Superior Service Level Agreements).
  • Support the training of new real estate loan processors within our member-centric relationship culture through member contact, quality member service and superior real estate loan knowledge.
  • Provide a back-stop for Real Estate Processors I and II by providing a thorough review and analysis of anomalies within the loan processing cycle.
  • Lead processing team objectives and KPI’s throughout the production cycle.
  • Serve as the first line of defense to diffuse member escalations to Real Estate management.
  • Perform research, follow-up on escalations, and complete special projects assigned by management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
